Michael "Mike" Moorman - The Legend - Receives the Bee Award

Mike Moorman of the 4 South PACU received the Bee Award on June 18th, 2024. Mike's hire date with our health system was June 18th, 1979, and it just seemed very fitting to celebrate him on his work anniversary and presenting him with another Bee Award on the same day! Mike has worked diligently for 45 years and continues to be an exemplarily employee! He is always a smiling face in the hallway and checking on everyone. He is a wealth of Carilion history and knowledge. :-) 

Bee Nomination Story: 

"On May 17th Mike was assisting with caring for a 100-year-old patient in PACU. This patient thought Mike was a preacher. Mike was in the bay due to the patient being upset and distraught. I witnessed Mike transporting this patient and he was singing to her to calm her down during the transport. The patient was at ease with Mikes singing during her transport to her inpatient room. Mike is an absolute gem and legend to this hospital. His hire date with our health system was in 1979! Everyone knows Mike and this is just one example I witnesses of Mike going over and beyond for his patients. This is a daily occurrence for Mike. Thank you, Mike, for all you do!"
