Community Equipment Loan Locker

Meg Carter, P.T.  from the Rehab team at CFMH won this year's Rehab Excellence Award! Meg exemplified the Carilion values of compassion, curiosity, commitment and collaboration during this past year. She collaborated with Emily Brush, a Physical Therapist on the Carilion Home Care Team, and a local church to provide a loan locker of medical equipment for residents in the community. They have collected donated medical items, cleaned them and moved them to a storage location at a local church. This provides patients in the community access to assistive devices, wheelchairs, knee scooters and shower/toileting devices to maximize their independence at home. They recognized a need in the community and created an innovative solution! Reach out to them if you have equipment to donate!
