Congratulations to Jordyn Scott, PCT on 9 MTN PCU - CRMH on winning the BEE Award for August 2023!

The BEE Award was created to celebrate Carilion Clinic's outstanding ancillary staff. Jordyn, while being a nursing student from Ferrum, performed her job with such care and compassion for her patient. Jordyn has a great career ahead of her in nursing. Please take a moment to read her story.

I was very sick at the time of my transfer to 9 MTN PCU.  I was vomiting, having horrible panic attack and sweet, compassionate Jordyn stayed with me while the nurse got my medications. Then the next day I ask for someone to help me wash my hair. She quickly volunteered to help me wash then I ask if she would braid my hair so I wouldn't have crazy hair. She gave me the prettiest braid I've had in my life. To others it may have looked like "girls" time. Truth is at 64 years old, I've never had any nurse make me feel so special in such a short amount of time. All of my nurses that day were awesome. Jordyn is a gem, Carilion Clinic better hold onto this amazing young lady. Thanks!
