Thank you, 500 times over!
Our youth volunteers wind down their summer with a terrific sendoff from our Carilion community and the community at large: Nearly 500 donated items for the CRMH Clothes Closet!
The youth appealed to Carilion employees and the community for sweatpants and pajama bottoms to replenish the Closet for discharging patients who don't have clothing to wear home. You all turned UP and showed OUT, donating nearly 500 needed items! Some youth scurried throughout the hospital picking up items from nursing stations, while other teens stood watch at Tanglewood as local residents drove up time and again, dropping off bags of clothing for a very worthwhile cause. Thank you, thank you, thank you 500 times over for your support!
Additionally, this event could not be held without the support of Carilion Laundry, which washes all gently used clothing. Thank you to Anthony Blevins and Travis Hurt of Carilion Laundry for collaborating with Volunteer Services.
On behalf of our youth volunteers, thank you for another successful clothes drive to benefit our patients and guests.
