CRBH Shows Compassion to a Traveling Patient and his Daughter. ❤

A patient was admitted to CRBH this past Thursday for Pneumonia after being found at a gas station febrile and disoriented. He and his daughter had traveled from PA to NC and were headed back home when he suddenly became ill and pulled over. He was admitted to the ICU and no one from his family was able to travel to Lexington to pick up his disabled daughter. The patient's daughter was allowed to stay in the ICU with him while he recovered and the CRBH staff not only cared for him but also looked after his disabled daughter during his 4-day hospital stay. Meals were provided for her, and the nursing staff assisted her with her ADL's. One nurse (Andra Fridley) even went to Walmart and purchased two sets of clothing for her. So many people went above and beyond to help this family. Doug Wright (case manager), Dr. Jay Sailer, and Nicole French, NP assisted with keeping in touch with the patient's family and helped to ensure safe disposition upon discharge, Finley Waddell (Quality Director) drove to Natural Bridge to pick up their home medications, and Aaron Glenn (Director of Nursing) drove them to their car in NB upon discharge and then escorted them back to Walmart so the patient could pick up his prescriptions prior to heading back to PA. The names mentioned were only a few who cared for this family, there are too many others to mention. From the ED to the ICU to Administration, everyone had a role in making sure this family was taken care of. The patient and his daughter were very appreciative of the care our facility provided to both of them. Thank you to everyone at CRBH who showed compassion for this patient and his daughter! I am proud and blessed to work with such a caring team!
