IR ROCKS
I would like to salute my team for saving my life.
On April the 5th of this year, I came to work and I was feeling very short of breath along with leg pain. I called my coworker Kaye Hairston to come and help me up to our department. When we arrived Linda Brown-Jones was concerned about me and called Dr. Bishop into the office. The three of them encouraged me to go to the ED. After several tests, they found a DVT in my leg and clots in my lungs. Dr. Bishop came to see me and let me know that they were going to take me to IR for a PE thrombectomy. I have worked in IR for 5years and seen many patients come through our department. I never thought I would be one of them. The team in the room were very professional and efficient. Amanda Staub RN, Joseph Morris, Lauren Sink and Dr. Bishop took care of me as if I was their family. Kaye stepped in and stayed with my son Tony to keep him company while I was in the procedure. I am so thankful for the care that I received, I salute you all. Thank you so much for taking care of me.
