7MPCU, Home Health, and the Transition to Nursing Practice Department Collaborating to Onboard New Graduate Nurses in Home Health

Submitted by ahsigmon on

Home Health leadership identified the need to hire new graduate nurses in their practice environment for the first time. The leadership sought out the expertise of the Nursing Center of Excellence Transition to Nursing Practice (TTNP) team to plan and implement an orientation plan that supported the new graduate into this practice environment. Together, the home health leadership and TTNP team created an innovative approach to support a smooth, structured, and successful orientation for onboarding new graduate nurses in the home health environment. 7MPCU graciously agreed to help us provide mentorship and skills training to our first new graduate nurse for home health. We would like to thank Katie Hayes, Unit Director, and her 7MPCU team for their compassion, knowledge, and collaboration. Pictured below is the 7MPCU team and Hope Myers, our first home health Nurse Resident. Thank you Hope for your resiliency, flexibility, and engagement in this new orientation process!
