Carilion Clinic Transportation Team is awesome!

On April 11, 2023, a mutual patient was being transported back to his home. When Jessica Walden, EMT and Chelsea Nichols, paramedic arrived with the patient at his home, his DME had not yet arrived. While waiting on the DME to arrive, these two ladies provided a calming environment, in the sunshine for the patient and family. He really enjoyed feeling the sun on is skin and the family even stated " Everything happens for a reason and this was a blessing in disguise."

The hospice team could not say enough about these wonderful people. They were very gracious and provided a safe space for him until everything was arranged for him in the home. This morning, Jessica and Chelsea were recognized with flowers and doughnuts as a thank you for a job well done.

This situation could have turned out much different had it not been for Jessica and Chelsea's understanding and compassion. Thank you both for working along side of our team to provide an excellent patient and family experience.
