Living our Values to Save a Patient

Hayley Andrews, infection preventionist CRBH, made quite the great catch.  We had a patient who tested positive for carbapenem resistant aeromonus hydrophila.   Hayley used her epidemiological skills to source the root cause of the problem and she found it.  It was contaminated well water, as the source of the patient's illness! This information was given to the patient family and bedside nurses taking care of the patient and they were able to fix the well water so it is safe for the patient.
We are proud of Hayley going the extra mile to help our patient and the family who depends on that well. Great catch Hayley and thank you for demonstrating our mission and values in your practice!
