Compassion for a dying married couple

Nurses Bethany David and Shelly Henson from 7SICU beautifully displayed the upmost compassion for their dying patients who were husband and wife and were able to grant the wish of their son, who was withdrawing care on both of them, that they be able to die together. With collaboration between many different disciplines, these two patients were able to be in the same unit which provided much ease and comfort for their son. When the son decided to withdraw care on both his mom and dad, nursing moved one patient into the other patient's room so that the withdraw of care could happen simultaneously and that this married couple of over 50 years could pass peacefully together while holding hands.
