Congratulations to Angel Gray on winning the BEE Award!

The BEE Award recognizes the extraordinary work of our unlicensed nursing support staff.  The BEE acronym stands for "Being Exceptional Everyday".  Angel exemplifies this quality in her compassionate work with her patients.  

Please take a moment to read her nomination story below.

Angel Gray (ED Tech) was with my daughter and I in the ED the other night and made a HUGE impact on our night. My daughter is 14 and struggles with her mental health. When we ended up in the ER she was feeling unloved and uncared about. Angel made her feel as though she really cared and even helped her find a quiet place to sleep on a crazy night. While I was struggling to keep her safe, Angel was showing her kindness, compassion and an attitude that made her feel safe and like her issues were important. there is simply no one more deserving of this award. From a mom who always needs someone else to show my girl that she is worth more than her mental health tells her she is. Angel  did all the right things to make us comfortable and safe.

Angel embodies the Carilion values of compassion and commitment in the caring of her patients.  Congratulations Angel!
