Virtual Santa visits CRMH Pediatrics

The Digital Health team partnered with Amwell, Carilion’s virtual visit vendor, and Carilion’s Child Life Specialists to bring Santa Claus virtually to young patients on Tuesday, December 9. Many of these patients were spending the holidays in isolation and may not have otherwise had the opportunity to see Santa.

Through this virtual experience, patients were able to feel a sense of normalcy and enjoy the magic of the season. Santa spent meaningful one-on-one time with each child—calling them by name, asking thoughtful questions, sharing gifts, and bringing smiles to their faces. The joy and excitement seen on screen were truly priceless, reminding us of the power of connection and hope, even through technology.
