Team Up for Patient Safety 2026 - Celebrating CRMH Birthplace

During 2026 Patient Safety Week, we had the privilege of rounding on Labor & Delivery and Mother Baby at CRMH Birthplace - and the pride, passion, and purpose of this team was on full display.

When asked what they're most proud of and how they keep patients safe, staff shared powerful examples of safety in action every single day:
✨ Outstanding teamwork—supporting one another in fast-paced, high‑acuity moments
✨ Being strong patient advocates, speaking up and standing with families
✨ Preventing falls, especially when helping patients get up safely
✨ Thorough discharge teaching so families leave confident and prepared
✨ Improving reliability, like moving PKU results to a digital format instead of manual processes
✨ Safer medication practices, including updated postpartum Pitocin order sets
✨ Honoring experience, with incredible team members like Theo, who has been caring for families on Mother Baby for 50 years
