Spreading relief from cold and flu symptoms to families in our community!

Submitted by hmillar on

Mandy Swann in Infection Control had 150 cold and flu relief packs to share with families in Roanoke. The packs included Vick's vapo rub, nasal saline spray, tissues, and cough drops in addition to inserts to educate parents and caregivers about cold and flu symptoms, typical recovery times, and when to see a Dr. She found Carilion's Community Health and Outreach department and the LIFT Center, and we collaborated to distribute all of the relief packs to families of students at the after-school programs at West End Center, Presbyterian Community Center, and Community Youth Project. What a great way to work together to "improve the health of the communities we serve!"photo of Mandy Swann, Jackie Smith, and a child receiving cold relief packs for after school program families
