Shout out to the Palliative Care Team at RMH

I wanted to take a moment to give a heartfelt shout out to the incredible Palliative Care Team. As many of you know, when we mention to folks in the community that we work for Carilion, it often sparks stories about their experiences with us. Recently, I had the privilege of meeting a man whose son passed away at RMH. He spoke with deep gratitude about the Palliative Care Team and the excellent care they provided for his son and sharing how much it meant to him and his wife to have been kept fully informed and supported throughout their son’s care. What truly stood out to them was the compassion and kindness shown by the team during such a difficult time.

Hearing these words of appreciation reminded me again of the impact we have on families, and it gave me another reason to be “Carilion Proud!” Accolades to the palliative care team for their dedication and empathy. Thank you for demonstrating what it truly means to care.
