Real time data informs excellence goals in the ED Bridge program- kudos to the HART and Tableau teams!

Behind the scenes -- quietly but diligently -- the HART team worked with the Tableau team to create a new type of dashboard:  tracking the numbers of patients receiving best practice care in the Carilion ED Bridge to Treatment program, currently being replicated across the state.  The data is driving the replication efforts that are striving for excellence in the form of best practices in the implementation of Emergency Room interventions with patients identified as having an opioid use disorder and in need of medical attention that leads to pursuing a path to recovery.  Thanks to this team of analytics experts, data is captured and rendered through visualizations to track trends, adherence to best practices, and areas possibly in need of improvement. The Carilion Mental Health Department is collaborating with the Emergency Department, Community Health and Outreach, our analytics experts and Research and Development to share the lessons learned with health care systems throughout Virginia -- resulting in an expansion of this key strategy for linking patients in need with the appropriate treatment.
