PTA's Curosity Prevents Patient Harm at CGCH

Morgan Atkins, P.T.A., has been providing care for a particular patient. The patient arrived to therapy this week with slurred speech and not herself. She stated that her doctor had refilled her medication with a current dosage of 100mg, and she was to work up to taking two pills in the morning and three at night. When she picked up her medication, the dosage was 300mg, and she assumed her doctor had increased the dosage. Morgan was concerned about the patient and looked in Epic at the physician's note, and the dosage was to continue at 100mg. There was an error on the pharmacy's behalf when they filled the prescription and the wrong dosage was given. Morgan's demonstration of curiosity made a huge impact on this patient and her safety. This was an amazing catch on Morgan's part that prevented harm to this individual.
