Pediatric Palliative Care Education Initiative

Thursday, May 11, 2023, marked the culmination of a 12-month pediatric palliative care (PPC) educational initiative that brought together a diverse and collaborative group of pediatric care providers from across the system.  The group (which included the pediatric, palliative, and hospice departments) launched the program in May 2022 with an on-site training course followed by quarterly virtual sessions.  This educational initiative was underwritten by HR Training and Development and featured nationally recognized experts in PPC from Children’s National Hospital.  In the final session, the group highlighted four key areas to enhance PPC and plan to meet monthly to strategize and implement next steps.
