Patient Advocate, Compassionate Soul, and just a Beautiful Person! (CFMH)

There were actually 3 different patients/loved ones within the last two weeks that were looking at some very hard end of life choices.

Patient #1: Sarah did what she would usually do which is to advocate for her patient's best interests. This instance saved this family from an unwanted intubation as well as corrected a "known/wanted code status" per the patient's wishes. 

Patient #2: Sarah continued to advocate for this patient's comfort as well as the ability to have their loved be able to come and visit given the end of life condition.

Patient #3: Sarah continued to advocate for the patient's wishes of being comfort care and even stayed with the patient during their last moments so they wouldn't pass on alone. (In addition, Kaitlyn from ACS sat with this patient as well and it clearly has touched her heart given her emotions behind this situation)

These last few years have been challenging to say the least and for Respiratory, I can confidently say most of us have seen more death recently than in our entire years of practice. I appreciate Sarah G. Peters more than she knows as I know our department and Director does too. No, we don't do this for the recognition, yet, we work so well as a team for situations like this and I couldn't do it without you!
