Nurse Leader of the Year: Laurie Miller

Submitted by bmterry on

Congratulations to the very first ever Nurse Leader of the Year – Laurie Miller!

We are proud to share a copy of her nomination below:

She works hand-in-hand with her team every day, not from a distance but right beside them, leading by example. Accountability is a core value she upholds without hesitation—addressing issues directly and constructively, creating a culture of trust and continuous improvement. A true mentor, she took ownership of onboarding her new OM, guiding in both operations and strategic thinking, nurturing her growth.

Her leadership reaches beyond her direct team. She has cultivated strong, collaborative relationships with physicians to enhance patient outcomes and has thoughtfully built mutual respect with peers—even in cases where connections didn't begin on steady ground. Her style is a rare blend of professionalism and approachability—someone who sets the bar high while keeping the environment supportive and even fun. Her presence uplifts the unit, bringing consistency, accountability, and a sense of shared purpose.
