Love one another

Dr. Cara Tillotson is a Pediatric Hospitalist who demonstrates love and care for her patients daily. Most agencies currently recommend the separation of COVID positive mothers and their newborn immediately upon delivery. Many moms choose otherwise, but our first patient to choose separation provided different challenges. While everyone on the unit worked logistically to make the separation happen and provide staffing to allow 1:1 care, Dr. Tillotson did more than just consider how difficult it must be for a new mom to make this choice. As most of us said, "wow, I can't imagine how sad that would be", Dr. Tillotson acted to lesson the mother's heartache. Dr. Tillotson ordered a video baby monitor from Target and provided the mother the monitor, allowing the new mom to see and talk to her newborn, even though they were separated. This is how we love one another.
