Our hospital was challenged with full capacity, and an overcrowded ED with multiple admission holds. We had an elderly patient that had discharge orders but his son was having car issues and was unable to come pick him up. The patient lived out in the county and Leslie had worked diligently to find transportation for the patient. With it being Sunday, and all options exhausted, the patient was going to have to stay another night to be transported by the Senior Van on Monday.  Leslie was aware of the status of our hospital, along with the admissions holding in the ED.  Leslie, along with her husband who also had worked in healthcare, took the patient home. This was truly above and beyond and an example of Leslie living our values!
