L&D Nurses go to Lobby Day!

Huge shout out to two of our CRMH Labor and Delivery Nurses, Stephanie Fields, and Ashley Velez. 

These two traveled to Richmond to gather with nurses from across the state with the Virginia Nurses Association to show their support for a couple of workplace support bills. Lobby Day brings individuals and groups that want their voices to be heard by their local House and Senate representatives. Stephanie and Ashely canvassed through the General Assembly to initially meet with our representatives for Roanoke but were able to branch out and tell their stories to individuals within various committees. Stephanie and Ashley specifically focused on 2 House Bills that would improve reporting and tracking of workplace violence and the increase of nursing programs. They also pushed for the support of funding for a pilot program through UVA that would train up to 30 SANEs (sexual assault nurse examiners) over the first year to better serve areas that lack these resources.
