Keen eyes make needed change to system forms
On 6/21/21, an employee who was pregnant came to CFMH Employee Health for a Tdap vaccination. Upon review of vaccine questions and consent, Jessica found that the consent as well as vaccine questions stated that an employee who is pregnant should not receive the vaccine. After conferring with Employee Health System Leadership we found that Tdap is now considered a vaccine that all pregnant women should receive during pregnancy. Upon review of the Tdap protocol it was discovered that the protocol does allow administration of the Tdap as long as the OB provider is in agreement and provides written documentation. The systemwide consent and vaccine information have been corrected to reflect this recommendation. Jessica’s keen eye and attention to detail helped ensure that our Employee Health processes were following protocol and best practices. Thanks Jessica for looking out for our employees.
