Karen Mulkey RN was able to get AED's donated to 3 local churches
Karen Mulkey has been employed with Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital for an amazing 30 years. Karen started out in ICU then went to the Emergency Room. Karen is now in the role of Infection Control and Community Outreach. Karen works so hard to make sure that our small community gets the same opportunities as bigger communities.
Karen recently collaborated with Sylvia Atkins and was able to get 3 AED's donated to 3 local churches. Karen arranged for classes to be held for each church to learn the proper use of AED's. Karen included her hospital by getting volunteers to attend and assist with the training. Karen always finds a way to make sure everyone is given the opportunity to assist in giving back to the community. We were able to see first-hand how grateful these churches were for not only receiving the AED but for the training. Attendees were so engaged and asked questions. It was a great experience. thanks again for all the work you put into getting this together and for ALL you do.
We would just like to say "WOW" thank you for all your hard work. We see how much our hospital and community means to you.
