Just a typical day

I would like to take a moment and recognize Valerie  our referral coordinator. Valerie goes above and beyond every single day for the patients in our small rural community of Floyd. She handles insurance companies, DME companies, getting testing approved, calls specialists and patients non stop all day in addition to the her other chaotic responsibilities. Today in her eyes was a typical day but what she did not realize is that she helped myself and 3 separate patients/families in emergent situations  get the care they needed. She was able to get a STAT CT late in the afternoon, a STAT orthopedic referral for a fracture within a couple of hours of the patient walking in our office, and  a STAT hospice consult in which the patient was able to pass peacefully. Ancillary staff often go unrecognized but I am forever grateful for the compassion and patience that our staff has. Valerie thank you for your compassion and dedication to all of our patients.
