Judie Snipes - In Memoriam

On Jan. 18, Judie Snipes, a pillar in the Carilion community, passed away.

Prior to her retirement in 2015, she was a vice president and our privacy officer. With more than 46 years of service to patients and 40 years at Carilion, she was known for her dedication, kindness and careful attention to detail. She was a mentor to many with a keen understanding of the complexities surrounding patient privacy. 

Judie received her R.N. from the Roanoke Memorial Hospital School of Professional Nursing, her B.S. from Lynchburg College and her M.B.A. from the College of William and Mary. She was a fellow with the American College of Health Care Executives and remained active in that space after her retirement. She was also a dedicated Boy Scout volunteer and was involved with the Blue Ridge Mountains council-BSA.
