International Infection Prevention Week
•International Infection Prevention Week (IIPW) takes place October 17-23, 2021. Because infection prevention is more important than ever in the battle against a global pandemic and to keep the world safe from healthcare-associated infections and outbreaks, this year’s theme is Make Your Intention Infection Prevention. We want to emphasize the role that individuals can play in the health and safety of their community by showcasing the science behind infection prevention, the importance of countering mis-information, and to inspire the world’s future IPs to join the fight.
•In recognition of the importance of infection prevention, the Infection Control Department will have daily educational topics and trivia on the Infection Control Hub on Inside Carilion from 10/18 – 10/22. Employees can test their knowledge and will be eligible for various infection prevention related prizes. We encourage all staff to visit the Infection Control Hub to stay up to date on Infection Prevention & Control related information and announcements.
