Hurricane Heroes
As we all know, hurricane Helene has taken a toll on Southwest Virginia. However, it was no match for the hospital crew working on Saturday, September 28th at Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital. With no power, no internet, and no phone services, we tackled a busy day during a chaotic situation. We had to go " OLD SCHOOL " trying to take care of very sick patients without our day-to-day luxury technology. I have never seen people come together and work through such a physically and mentally exhausting day.... but we did it! Everyone jumped in and helped each other regardless of their title or job description. I hope that I don't leave any names out: Dr. Thomas Moss, Jenifer Duty, Robin Stanley, Sabrina Bales, AJ, Terri Brewster, Tracy Hash, Hannah, Alicia Bales, Kristie Williams, Macon, Haley Laney, Liz Myers, Ashley Cates, Nancy Shrader, Carrie Nygen, Betsy, Ashley (Pt Access), Carilion Police officers, Matt and Chris, Brenda Click (Dietary), Sandy Hess and Shanay (EVS ), as well as the I.T. team that came to get us " back to the future " so to speak. Kudos to a job well done!
