HEALTHY HEART EVENT
Heart disease is a leading cause of death in the United States for both men and women. But you can do a lot to protect your heart and stay healthy. In February, the Women's Resource Group partnered with Stephanie Spencer, Health Educator and Julia Blanchard from Wellness to host a Healthy Heart event at the Giles Hospital. The turnout was great. People were able to ask questions, as well as, get BP checked, get handouts with healthy lifestyle, eating tips and recipes. Three people were chosen from a drawing to win BP monitors to help with their health journey. Wellness had additional healthy heart information, spin the wheel game, to test your heart health knowledge and gave out positive words to encourage a healthier mindset for the year. My word was RENEW.
Heart-healthy living involves understanding your risk, making healthy choices, and taking steps to reduce your chances of getting heart disease. By taking preventive measures, you can lower your risk of developing heart disease that could lead to a heart attack. You can also improve your overall health and well-being. Thank you to all that presented this event.
Remember, it is never to late to start on healthy heart journey.
