Good Deed
I received an email from one of our amazing nurses telling me that when she drove in to work this morning, she noticed Lola Wells, one of our Lab team members, picking up cigarette butts from the town parking lot across the street from our Emergency Dept. I cannot describe how this made me feel.....on one hand, extremely disappointed that anyone would even need to pick up cigarette butts. This is littering and disrespect on so many levels. On the other hand, I was so proud that Lola took it upon herself to make sure that this trash was picked up, thus preserving the cleanliness and beauty of the community in which we are guests.
Thank you Lola for being you and for picking up trash left by others. This act was an example that everyone should follow. We should all honor a Leave no Trace culture. We should all pickup after ourselves.Thank you for living and working the Carilion Clinic Values. You made me proud.
