Going above and beyond during life's toughest time.  Loresa Heyward, RMH chaplain, lives the standard of Compassion. 

Loresa helped a spouse who just lost their mate in the ED navigate the myriads of choices and decisions no one hopes that they will ever have to make.  To make matters more difficult this surviving spouse experienced this tragedy while traveling out of state and found themselves with no family and unsure where to turn and what to do next. 

As Loresa comforted this hurting human she kept encouraging and calming and showing compassion when the surviving spouse was overwhelmed with the 'what ifs' to just 'take a breath,' and 'what is the next step?'  and 'what do you need right now?' 

It was beautiful and made me very proud to be a part of team Carilion.
