Franklin Hospice CNA goes ABOVE and BEYOND!
Carilion Franklin Hospice CNA Sabrina recently proved that not all heroes wear capes… some carry dog leashes.
Sabrina recognized a dog posted on Animal Control's Facebook page as the missing companion of one of our hospice patients. The doggo had escaped during a grocery store run and eluded all attempts to retrieve him. Since the dog had belonged to the patient’s late daughter, he is an especially treasured companion and the patient was especially heartbroken over the loss of his little friend.
After having worked all day, once Sabrina saw the post, she went to the animal shelter, picked up the runaway, and personally delivered him back home where he belonged.
Our patient was so happy to get his buddy back and has happily told the story to each of the hospice staff who visit the home. Now, every time Sabrina visits, the little dog races to see her: “Thank you for bringing me back home to my dad!!”
Sometimes hospice care means providing comfort in unexpected ways — and Sabrina delivered it paws-itively perfectly!
