EMS Award to Trauma Nurse For Outstanding Contribution

Congratulations to Sarah Beth Dinwiddie for receiving the 2018 Regional EMS Award for an Outstanding Contribution to EMS.

Sarah Beth has provided Stop The Bleed training to over 2000 people in the community,especially EMS providers, school nurses, law enforcement and students. The training prepares us to manage bleeding from injuries that could result in loss of life or limb. 

Along with Dr. Kevin Broyles, emergency medicine and Dr. Dan Lollar, trauma surgery, Stop The Bleed training will soon be implemented at the regional airport and civic center.

The training better prepares us to be helpful during a mass casualty incident that, unfortunately, has become more common.
It has been compared to teaching the public how to provide CPR and is a national campaign developed by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma.

We are very proud of Sarah Beth for her commitment to helping our EMS partners complete the training and support them in providing it to our neighbors, families and friends.
