Dr. Icard Works to Improve the Patient Experience
The Clinical Advancement and Patient Safety Department would like to recognize Bradley Icard, D.O., for identifying and reporting an opportunity for improvement related to our medication assistance program.
Dr. Icard is a Pulmonary Critical Care fellow who sees patients at the Crystal Spring Medical Office Building. He recognized that one of the medication that his office frequently prescribes was available at a discounted rate through the 3 Riverside retail pharmacy but not through the Crystal Spring retail pharmacy. As a result, some patients had to leave the Crystal Spring building and travel to 3 Riverside to purchase discounted medications, rather than being able to purchase medications in the same building where they had appointments.
With the help of Dr. Icard and Chad Alvarez, senior director for our retail pharmacies, all of the Carilion retail pharmacies in Roanoke will offer the albuterol inhalers as part of our medication assistance program beginning Oct. 1.
We would like to thank Dr. Icard for seeking methods of improvement and working to improve the patient experience.
