Daisy Award Nominee Sandra Erickson

Sandra Erickson RN on MCU was selected as our Daisy award nominee. She was nominated by three of her patients during the months of November, December and part of January. She is committed to her patients and provides compassion no matter what is going on. Sandra is an amazing nurse, co-worker and friend! Below is what her patients said:

1. I was extremely upset regarding finances during my hospitalization. Sandra came in my room and began talking to me like an old friend. She truly brought me away from my feelings of despair, frustration and complete self-failure. I don’t think she realized the emotional state she found me in and brought me away from. I will be forever grateful for her time, patience, encouragement and kindness. Thank you Sandra!

2. I have Crohn's disease and my biggest fear when coming into the hospital is pain relief. Sandra always made sure my pain meds were given on time. She also made sure the pyxis had enough in for the next dose due to pharmacy not stocking enough and making me wait till they do stock. Very caring nurse, thank you Sandra!

3. Ever since I met Sandra she has treated me nicely and has taken care of my needs while I was here. If I have a daughter someday I hope she will be like her. I would like to thank the nurses that took care of me while I was here.
