Congratulations to Ben Hylton, RN - CRMH 8 South PCU on winning the DAISY Award for October 2023!

The DAISY Award was established to recognize the selfless care that nurses give to patient's and their families every day.  Ben showed such amazing care and compassion for one of our patients. Please take a moment to read his nomination story below. 

Ben is a calm, caring, attentive nurse with empathy towards his patients. We were lucky to have Ben take care of my mother during her nearly 14 day hospitalization. Ben brought with interaction care in the way he spoke to my elderly mother. Given her complications and numerous stools and urine, Ben never shirked to come and help out where as sometimes other nurses or techs sometimesseemed to be in a rush. He treated my mother as if she was his most important job. He got everything done timely, never made excuses, and always with kindness, confidence and urgency that was appropriate. I am a physician and was at bedside all the time. I observe and teach many students and have observed a lot. I am confident that this nurse is a gem - and should be awarded!!! We wish all the nurses could be so good.
