Community within allows for fulfillment of patient’s spiritual needs

Today, I’m extending eternal gratitude and appreciation for Sherri Denson, Imaging Department at Carilion Rockbridge Community Hospital. This week we had a patient who was not doing well and pending a transfer to a tertiary facility for a higher level of care. Our staff identified that the patient desired to speak with pastoral counsel prior to his transfer. After brainstorming and reaching out to our Carilion network, we were stumped at how to make this happen. Due to the tight knit community within our facility, we acted on hunch that Sherri may be able to help. We made a quick call to Sherri, who was able to reach out to exactly who our patient needed. A heartwarming success, we were able to facilitate the holistic care that he not only desired, but deserved. 

Sherri, we’re so thankful for you. You are a gem and we are blessed that you are a part of our team and “family” at CRBH. ❤️
