Coming together to promote good hand hygiene
I would like to recognize a group of people who truly embody the spirit of community and curiosity that makes us Carilion. Last week I had the honor of working with people who volunteered to help us film a new hand hygiene video. This video addresses our need for hand hygiene across multiple roles and care areas and these volunteers came from multiple areas and do a variety of jobs in our organization. This would not have been possible without their offering time, thoughts, enthusiasm, and in some cases, clothing.
We filmed at the Center for Simulation, Research and Patient Safety in Roanoke and the Carilion Family Medicine on Main St in Rocky Mount. So to start I’d like to thank the Sim Lab for allowing us to film at their location and in particular would like to thank Amanda Anderson for being our go-to person and jumping in with supplies and ‘blood’ when she agreed to be one of our actors. I would also like to thank the Carilion Family Practice in Rocky Mount for allowing us to wander to halls after hours and in particular I’d like to thank their manager, Laurie Shipman, for giving us the access.
