Perinatal & Infant Loss Memorial Walk Event 10/6/24

On the beautiful sunny afternoon of Sunday October 6th, our Carilion NRV Forget-Me-Not Committee held our annual remembrance walk to honor babies that were gone too soon. We invited our families that had delivered with us over the last few years along with our nursing staff and other members of the community. We met at the pond and walked to the CNRV Memorial Garden where we had a message and moment of silence from our chaplain Robin Williamson. After the walk, we moved indoors for refreshments and craft projects presented by Michele Walter, an artist in residence with the Carilion Healing Arts Program. Participants created butterfly watercolors and flower pounding pictures using fresh flowers. Michele said, “You guys made it so special and showed so much compassion for these hurting families. It’s so crucial to bring a creative process to anyone’s healing.” We appreciate Robin & Michele and all those that participated in this special event!
