Mark Atkins took a Chest X-ray of an autistic, Non-verbal toddler and the mother left this Patient Press Ganey comment complimenting him:
"I was unable to see his name badge, so I don't have a name. On April 30th at approximately 4:00 p.m. at the Giles hospital, my autistic nonverbal toddler was seen in the ER for a seizure. The radiographer took a chest x-ray. I don't know what you're paying him, but it's not enough. He spoke to my child and explained to him what was happening. He worked within his limits and didn't push him. Most people hear nonverbal and treat him like he doesn't understand what's going on. Not this man. He treated my son like a person. I'm forever grateful."
Thank you, Mark, for treating all patients with care and respect and for being a stellar example of Carilion values.
