Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital Celebrates Forrest Wilkins as the DAISY Award Winner 

Dear Forrest Wilkins,

From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank you for the incredible care and kindness you showed my father-in-law, Gary Talbert, and our family. During one of the most difficult moments of our lives, your compassion and dedication provided comfort beyond words.  You always answered our questions with grace and professionalism, were exceptionally patient and attentive to Gary, and were that reassuring, caring presence during Gary's last days alive on Earth.  Your gentle touch, reassuring words, and unwavering presence made all the difference—not only for him but for all of us who loved him. You treated him with amazing dignity and respect, and for that, we will always be grateful. We may not remember every detail of those final days, but we will always remember you and the kindness you showed.  Thank you for being more than just a nurse—for being a source of light, strength, and compassion in our time of supporting Gary during his last living days.
