Carilion's VSA Receives an Award!

Submitted by krproctor on

Each year the RUC Physician Assistant (PA) Program honors an organization within the community that has worked closely with their students. The “Partnership Award” is recognition of that relationship and signifies that campus-community partnership. This year, Carilion’s Visiting Student Affairs (VSA) has been selected as the recipient. The decision was made by the Program, with input and suggestions from the students.

The 2021 Partnership Award was presented by J. Randy Howell DHSc, PA-C, (who is a member of Carilion’s Department of Emergency Medicine team in addition to an Assistant Professor-Department of Physician Assistant Studies-Radford University Carilion) at the RUC PA Program White Coat Ceremony that took place on Friday, December 10th at the Vinton War Memorial.

There was no one more deserving to receive this award in VSA’s honor than Glenda Keller, who manages the placements and complex backstage work that goes into safely bringing this group of students to Carilion, especially during a pandemic. Glenda’s sharp focus and attention to detail is the gold standard of student onboarding, and our team wouldn’t be the same without her.

Glenda, we applaud your hard work and dedication. Thank you for everything you do for all our students, not just the RUC PA program, and for our tiny, but mighty team!
