Barbara Worrell - The Spirit of CFMH

Last week, as I was sitting in Triage waiting for shift change in the early am, I heard Barbara from PAS talking with an elderly couple down the hallway- apparently  they were here for some outpatient testing, and  had some hearing deficits, as Barbara was speaking quite clearly and slowly to them. She gave them one of our beepers that we use to notify pts when it is their turn for x-ray, etc. Evidently they did not understand what to do with the beeper, and she told them a couple of times, "when it goes beep,beep, beep, just come up here to the desk and I will show you where to go ". ( She was actually making the sound of the beeper, and by the time she did it the 2nd time, I got tickled.)  After a few minutes, she came down the hallway, and I asked her to tell me what sound the beeper made again. 

Barbara has retired once ( twice?) I think, but keeps coming back to us- she is the kindest, most involved person with her patients, and goes out of her way to make sure they understand what they are to do. I know she has worked here forever, because we both started when we were (quite) young, and now we are (not) so young. I appreciate her kindness and dedication to CFMH and out patients, and hope she stays  here forever!!
