Above and beyond patient service

Late afternoon on Friday August 20th i had the pleasure of working with Pamela Holcomb with the CMAP program.  I had a patient who needed a prescription but was unable to pay for it and on top of that unable to leave her home to get it due to her health.  i contacted the hospital pharmacy who provided me with Ms Holcomb's number. I advised her of the situation and she worked with me and the ED physician to arrive at a prescription that the patient could take and also one which the CMAP program could financially assist with. Soafter many phone calls that was the first hurdle crossed.  The second was how to get the medication to the patient. This is where Ms Holcomb truly shined. She delivered the medication to the patient's home after she left work! 

Ms Holcomb is an excellent example of collaboration, commitment, compassion and courage!
