7MT PCU Nurses Kate Willis and Martha Gibbs going above and beyond for a patient after discharge
7MT PCU nurses Kate Willis and Martha Gibbs came to the rescue after they received a phone call from a recently discharged patient. The patient arrived home after being discharged to discover one of their medications was not filled at the pharmacy. The patient had a very important dose to take that night and with collaboration, the team was trying to decide if the patient needed to be readmitted back to the ED for the dose or if the pharmacy could fill it in time. The pharmacy ultimately filled the medication, and after work, Kate and Martha drove and delivered it to the patient's house. Today CVI Quality Team presented the two nurses with chocolate and heartfelt thank yous'! We wanted to thank these two amazing nurses for putting patient safety first and going above and beyond!
