6s ICU Rocks!!

Working in Resource Pool you would think going to different units and meeting new people would be all but second nature to us. Contrary to popular belief, it still makes some of us pretty nervous! Especially when we're floated to units we don't typically go to. Last night I was floated to 6s ICU, a unit I have never been on as an aide. Upon arriving to the floor, I was greeted by staff, showed where to place my things, and told who to speak with for report. Their day shift aide John, gave me report and after finding out I had never worked on their floor before, gave me a tour of the unit so I was able to find my way around. He made sure he went over everything I would need to know and asked several times if I had any questions before he left. The nurses were just as nice! The charge nurse, Bethany came and introduced herself and checked on me periodically through the night. When I got floated to a different floor later in the night, everyone made sure to say thank you before I left. I'm sure some of these seem like such simple instances but it makes our shifts that much better being on floors with such friendly and compassionate staff. So thank you; Cameron, Tim, April, Bethany, Jill, Garrison, John, and Millie from RP. I enjoyed my first trip to 6s ICU and I can't wait to come visit again!
