VIDEO: One Patient's Valve Replacement Journey
Our latest patient journey video highlights how innovation and teamwork can quickly change a patient’s life. Conditioned to Heal: Ruth’s Valve Replacement Journey follows Ruth Bokun, whose severe heart condition once limited her ability to walk even short distances.
Thanks to a transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement led by Dr. Jason Foerst, Ruth had access to a less‑invasive treatment option that supported a faster recovery and renewed independence.
Her progress didn’t stop with the procedure. The cardiac rehabilitation team played a critical role in helping Ruth rebuild strength and confidence through a structured rehab program—often described as “physical therapy for the heart.” Cardiac nurses, respiratory therapists, an exercise physiologist, and a cardiologist on call all worked together to support her recovery.
The video is a powerful reminder that advanced care, combined with compassionate, team‑based support, makes a difference for our patients.
