“Infectious disease has always presented challenges like these in the form of an outbreak, whether it is local, epidemic or pandemic,” explained Dr. Ekta Bansal, Infectious Disease physician.

Our providers are diligently looking for ways to help treat critical patients. And we have access to the much talked about medication, remdesivir.

“We have a supply that comes in semi-regularly from the Virginia Department of Health,” said Melissa White, Infectious Disease pharmacist. ”We’re continuously assessing any patients with COVID-19 who are admitted to the hospital and determining if they are a candidate to receive remdesivir.”
