Velocity Care is transitioning to the Department of Emergency Medicine

Velocity Care is moving from the Department of Family and Community Medicine to the Department of Emergency Medicine, where it was situated originally. It’s common among healthcare organizations to manage urgent care services through departments of emergency medicine.

The transition is underway now and will continue into next year. It is an internal, operational change only. Velocity Care will continue its collaborative relationship with Family and Community Medicine, maintaining their roles as our “front door” for patients seeking care from us.

The transition will help ensure that the care we provide for our patients in our Velocity Care practices and EDs becomes even more seamless.
